How Purrbaby Portraits came to be...
Hi! We're Suzi and Bri, a mother and daughter-in-law duo that currently operate our woman-owned, independent pack and ship store called Ship Happens: Mailboxes & More. In addition, we're passionate animal advocates, specifically for feline rescue, adoption and T/N/R non-profits in and around our city of Chattanooga, TN. When we opened our store in May of 2025, we wanted to find a way to give back to our local community and decided to have a section in our store that offered a variety of cat-themed merchandise. We chose to donate half of all proceeds to a different non-profit every month. So far, this has been a great way to give back locally and we decided to expand this endeavor in 2026.
After some brainstorming, we realized just how many customers come into our store and love sharing stories and photos of their favorite furbabies. We already sold canvas pictures of generic cats in our store and they are one of our most popular items. Then we thought, what if we combined customers favorite photos of their furbaby into a "framed piece of art" worthy of hanging up at home and then include the pet's name to personalize it further.
This exact idea is how Purrbaby Portraits was born. We knew we could scale much faster from an eCommerce site and our goal is to reach an infinitely larger audience to offer an affordable way to celebrate, honor and cherish our furry family members better than from your phone's photo folder.
The Story Behind Thread Joy
I started ThreadJoy as a way to reconnect with the tactile world — creating objects that bring a little more softness and happiness into everyday spaces.
Each piece is made slowly, with attention to color, texture, and the simple joy of making something beautiful by hand. This is art you can touch, wrap around yourself, and fill your home with.
Based in Madeira, Portugal, I work with sustainable materials and zero-waste practices, believing that creativity and care for our planet go hand in hand.
Our Values

Color & Emotion

Connection
From maker to home — art that feels personal.
The Art of Making
Every piece begins with choosing the perfect colors and textures. We work slowly, stitch by stitch, honoring traditional techniques while embracing creative expression.
Every stitch begins with intention — choosing colors that speak to emotion and texture that invites touch.
Selecting materials is an art form — organic cotton, recycled wool, all sustainably sourced.
The rhythm of needles and thread — meditation in motion, creating warmth one row at a time.
Traditional weaving techniques meet contemporary design — honoring craft while embracing creative expression.
From Yarn to Home
Each creation passes through our hands multiple times — from selecting materials, to careful crafting, to thoughtful finishing touches. We believe the process itself infuses each piece with warmth and intention.
